Hello, we’re Factory Social, a social media agency based in Birmingham from an old fire station. As an agency we spend all day helping clients pull together the right winning social media recipe. Now as you’d expect we think the certain way to win with social media is to hire us (of course we think that!), but here are a few the ingredients of a winning social media recipe. Enjoy!
Develop a social media strategy
Start with your objectives and create an action plan. Before you implement though, you need to be ready for it internally and with your staff prepared to handle questions and communication. The plan will be most effective if you’re committed to it.
Remember! Social media no longer just sits within marketing, depending on the type of organisation you are will dictate where social media is potentially the most lucrative and the most risky.
Post content daily
A strong social-media presence is huge. No matter how busy you are, you need to take a few minutes each day to post relevant content on your social media and keep active with your community. Try to mix it up with a variety of things that are related to your company, using specific keywords within the posts for search engine optimisation.
Engage with your customers
This might seem obvious, but opening the floodgate that is social media can often leave you running around trying to make sense of all the noise. Customers often head online to rate company services and products, ask business owners questions, or even make suggestions for how to improve the customer experience. You should spend time every day to check out these comments, taking into account what customers have to say.
If a customer complains do not delete their comments, respond and help them solve the problem. A huge number of organisations do not answer customers on social media, so if you do so you will have a huge competitive advantage.
Monitor you, your industry and your competitors
You need to be aware of what’s going on in your industry, if your brand is being discussed and what the competitors are doing. Keep up with the industry trends, issues and news. Find out about the key influencers and what they care about and try to influence them back. You might find insights and ideas that had never occurred to you before.
Make brilliant content
Keep your audience’s attention by presenting your content in a striking way. Use concrete language and data, examples and images. Back up your arguments with carefully-chosen numbers. Find the essential core of what you are presenting and become a master at exclusion.
